They continue with this discussion until the guarantee period expired. I wrote ASUS again and after a long dicussion they told me that even there is ASUS dealers in PerĂº I bought it at USA so I should travel back for them to check it. The ticket is more expensive than the Netbook. Beware with this product, I bought it al Oct2008 at Miami and broght it to PerĂº, South America. I know this wouldn't happend to me if I bought some other well known brand. I wrote ASUS about the guarantee they refer me to two ASUS dealers here. It worked only for three times and then never turned on again. The dealers don't accept to check it because it was not a product sold by them.
I also might recommend the solid state drive because it is much quieter than the normal SATA drive that I have. I have had this computer for almost a year and half now, and have been using it as my primary computer. Is a little choppy watching streaming video at times though, especially when in a full-screen mode.Overall, I'd definitely recommend this laptop/netbook. Runs Office and even some fairly graphics-intensive games (like Unreal Tournament and Age of Mythology) just fine. So far, everything has worked very well. The only complaint I have is that the some of the keyboard keys stick up too far and leave marks on the screen, but I think I could have gotten that replaced if I'd been more on the ball.
Ironically as I type this comment, it hasn't happened once. For the longest time I assumed it was me, and now after very careful observations, it is definitely this computer. It typically happens about every 3rd sentence, way too much.Again, I really want to LOVE this computer, if only it wasn't so crazy. On a positive note, the battery lasts a long time. I have really tried liking this computer, it's tiny, it can go anywhere, overall things work well.EXCEPT.the keyboard is absolutely CRAZY.I need to be able to type.alot, but this computer invariably and suddenly jumps several lines up and inserts what you are typing in the wrong place. I spend more time fixing what went chaotically wrong.
Ted B. Came in two days,no problems getting it ready & going and it works marvelously.Love this machine - best thing I have purchased in a long time. I travel a lot and needed a reliable computer to keep connectedto the web. The ASUS Eee PC is much more.
Only complaint is the "Enter" key on the right side of the keyboard is too small and in the wrong place for me. One of the best purchases I've made.
